Missy Elliott to tour with Busta Rhymes, Ciara and Timbaland, play Oakland Arena
Pioneering hip-hop star Missy Elliott is going out on tour this summer and bringing along Busta Rhymes, Ciara and Timbaland along for the ride. The Out of this World Tour is somehow her first-ever headlining trek
“Fans have been asking me to tour forever but I wanted to wait until I felt the time was right because I knew if I was ever going to do it, I had to do it big, and I had to do it with family!” the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee said in a written release.
The 24-city run kicks off on July 4 in Vancouver, B.C. It arrives at Oakland Arena just five days later, on July 9.
Verizon customers will have the first opportunity to get tickets during a presale that runs from 10 a.m. local time on Tuesday, April 9 through 10 p.m. local time on Thursday, April 11—via Verizon Up. There will be other presales that run throughout this week.
The general sale will being on Friday, April 12, at 10 a.m. local time for all shows at Missy Elliot’s website. Several VIP packages will be available that include premium tickets, group on-stage photos, a special lounge, tour poster and gifts. Those will be sold through Live Nation’s VIP Nation.
With songs including “Get Ur Freak On,” “Work It” and “Pass That Dutch,” Missy Elliott is a four-time Grammy winner, eight-time MTV Video Music Awards winner and has sold 30 million albums in the U.S. All six of her albums has been certified platinum or better. She was inducted to the rock hall in 2023, becoming the first female hip-hop artist to do so.
Busta Rhymes has sold 10 million albums worldwide. His latest were 2023’s BLOCKBUSTA and 2020’s Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath of God. Grammy-winning artist Ciara has sold 23 million albums with hits “Goodies,” “Ride,” “Oh,” “1, 2 Step,” “I Bet,” “Level Up” and “How We Roll.” She’s also an actress, most recently appearing on the reimagined musical version of ” The Color Purple.” Multi-platinum, Grammy-winning producer and artist Timbaland has credits including Jay-Z’s “Dirt Off Your Shoulder” and “Big Pimpin,” Justin Timberlake’s “Sexy Back” and “Cry Me A River,” Aaliyah’s “One In A Million,” Missy Elliott’s “Get Ur Freak On” and “Work It” and Ginuwine’s “Pony.”
