Bill Murray coming to SF Sketchfest

Iconic actor and comedian Bill Murray will headline SF Sketchfest in January, producers of the annual comedy festival announced on Friday.

The festival will run from Jan. 16 to Feb. 2 and also include appearances and performances by Tim Curry (in a tribute hosted by drag legend Peaches Christ); a screenplay rearing of the film “Airplane!” with co-creator David Zucker, Robert Hays and others for its 45th anniversary; sketch comedy troupe The State (reading its unproduced musical “A Holiday Hubbub at Porcupine Corners”); Improv with Dinner Date featuring Rachel Bloom, John Ross Bowie, Jamie Denbo and Dan Gregor; and Shamilton: The Improvised Hip-Hop Musical and much more.

In all, more than 180 performances are planned for venues across San Francisco during the festival’s 22nd year.

Tickets go on sale on Sunday, Nov. 17 at 10 a.m. at SF Sketchfest’s website.
