Corey Taylor, Gavin Rossdale, more to headline Feeding America COVID-19 benefit

Corey Taylor of Slipknot, Bush’s Gavin Rossdale and a plethora of modern rock artists will headline a virtual concert Friday evening to benefit Feeding America’s COVID-19 relief fund.

The show will also include performances by Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge, Lzzy Hale and Joe Hottinger of Halestorm, Lisa Loeb, former Eagles guitarist Don Felder, Filter, Chris Robertson of Black Stone Cherry, Brandon Saller of Atreyu, George Thorogood, Danielia Cotton, Matt Bigland of Dinosaur Pile-Up and others. Appearances will include Peter Frampton and Adam Gontier of Saint Asonia, while Alice Cooper and Joe Satriani will be interviewing the artists.

The concert, called Rock For Relief, will be presented by United Stations Media Networks and Storic Media Podcast Network. It will be broadcast at 5 p.m. PST and again at 8 p.m. PST at the Rock For Relief website.

The money will go toward helping people who are food insecure. Feeding America estimates that 17.1 million people could be newly food insecure in 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, for a total of 54.3 million people, or one in every six people nationwide, according to a news release.

“Many people are struggling with hunger during this unprecedented time, including children, families and seniors. Feeding America member food banks are on the ground helping to address the increased need in their communities,” said Dan Nisbet, vice president of development at Feeding America.  The concert “will raise funds to provide meals to people who need them most.”
