Noise Pop announces lineup for 20th Street Block Party in October
Portland folk-pop band Y La Bamba and San Francisco’s soul and funk band Con Brio will headline Noise Pop’s 20th Street Block Party, which will take place on Oct. 16 this year after being canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic.
The lineup also includes Los Angeles garage rock trio L.A. Witch, the Bay Area’s French Cassettes, grunge-pop band Same Girls, as well as King Isis, LOUDA Y Los Bad Hombres and Strange Cities.
“After a year off, we’re so stoked to bring back the 20th Street Block Party along with some old and new Noise Pop friends,” talent buyer James Lopez said. “We can’t wait to share a dance with everyone once again in the neighborhood.”
The event will remain free as in past years, but all guests will this year have to reserve a spot in advance online to ensure physical distancing. Reservations are open now.
Additionally, there are some early bird VIP tickets available for a lower price through this weekend, at $59. These tickets include access to a private lounge and bar, private outdoor viewing areas, complimentary adult beverages and sample-sized food items from Mission restaurants and other perks.
A portion of proceeds will benefit 826 Valencia, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting under-resourced students and teachers, as well as La Cocina, which supports low-income food entrepreneurs across the Bay Area. Donations will be accepted at the door and online.
