The producer of annual DIY Oakland music festival Mosswood Meltdown has announced the return of its sister event, Halloween Meltdown. The latter festival debuted in October 2021.

Halloween Meltdown will take place over two days, Oct. 8 and 9, in Mosswood Park, with performances by Amyl & The Sniffers, Shannon & The Clams, Fuzz, Sheer Mag, The Spits, Lydia Lunch and others. John Waters will host, and there will again be a costume contest with a $500 cash prize. Additionally, there will also be a haunted house designed by East Bay musician and horror artist Rob Fletcher, according to producer Total Trash Productions.

The lineup includes Kid Congo Powers, Demolition Doll Rods, Body Double, Josie Cotton and Kiss, with more to be announced later.
