Keanu Reeves’ band Dogstar to reunite, replace Japanese Breakfast at BottleRock
The promoters of BottleRock Napa Valley this week announced a surprise appearance by rock trio Dogstar, the band founded by actors Keanu Reeves and Rob Mailhouse, as well as guitarist-vocalist Bret Domrose.
The band, which includes Reeves on bass and Mailhouse on drums, has not performed in more than two decades. The addition of Dogstar appears to be directly tied to Japanese Breakfast dropping out of the fest on the same day (Saturday, May 27).
BottleRock Napa takes place from May 26 to 28 and is headlined by Lizzo, Post Malone and Red Hot Chili Peppers and many others.
Dogstar announced on social media last week that it was working on its first album since 2000, with a planned release for sometime this summer. The band said it would premiere some of the songs at BottleRock.
With Japanese Breakfast dropping out on the Verizon Stage, fellow acts Lupe Fiasco and Dayglow are each getting bumped to a later time, and Dogstar will take Lupe Fiasco’s original stage time of 2:15 to 3:15 p.m.
