Patti Smith, Flaming Lips, Indigo Girls among performers at 2023 Stern Grove Festival

Patti Smith, the Flaming Lips, Indigo Girls with Neko Case, Lyle Lovett and Angelique Kidjo are among the artists who will perform at the 2023 Stern Grove Festival, producers announced have announced.
The festival will remain free to attend and continue to require an online reservation, which will become available one month before each show 2 p.m. at the Stern Grove Festival website.
The first concert will be on June 18 and will include jazz group Snarky Puppy and Isaiah Sharkey. Acclaimed band the Indigo Girls will perform the following weekend with opener Neko Case. Santigold and Ogi perform on July 2.
Other shows include Lyle Lovett and his Large Band, with San Francisco artist Andrew St. James opening on July 9, the San Francisco Symphony with funk band Lettuce on July 23, electronic acts Bob Moses and Neil Frances on July 30 and blues guitar icon Buddy Guy with Eric Gales on Aug. 6. Rocker Bob Mould will open for Patti Smith on Aug. 13 and the Flaming Lips will conclude Stern Grove Festival with Alan Palomo of Neon Indian on Aug. 20 with the annual Big Picnic fundraiser.
All concerts will begin at 2 p.m. PT at Sigmund Stern Grove, at 19th Avenue and Sloat Boulevard in the city’s Sunset District.
