OK, fine, so this is a video. But I couldn’t even get halfway done to watching the entire clip before wanting to say something about this. Grimes is a terrific visual artist and her aesthetic here is “Mad Max” meets “Blade Runner.” While there is so much color throughout, it’s added with typical Grimesian flourishes that highlight the vocals. Not many other artists use visuals as a complement to the audio like she does.

Grimes is such an avant-garde artist at this point that she may never get mainstream success, but her music speaks for itself and deserves the attention she’s getting.
