Blue Note Jazz Festival Napa, which debuted in 2022 with pianist, producer and songwriter Robert Glasper as curator and featured headliners Mary J. Blige, Nas and Chance the Rapper in 2023, will return in a more intimate form and a month later on the calendar this year.

Now called The Black Radio Experience—the name comes from a series of albums and performances by Glasper—it will be held from Aug. 30 to Sept. 1 at The Meritage Resort and Spa in Napa. The lineup for the Black Radio Experience will be announced in April. Advance VIP ticket packages will be available on Thursday, March 7 at 9 a.m. PT. via the event’s website.

Producers have announced the updated event as more intimate than prior festival’s. This year there will be about 30 performers on three stages over two days, as well as pool parties, a wine garden, after-parties and lower capacity attendance.

Last year’s festival took place at the Silverado Resort and had expanded to three days in July. The festival originated with Glasper’s annual monthlong residence at the Blue Note New York called “Robtober,” where he curates shows and collaborations of jazz, R&B, hip-hop, soul and comedy.
