Berkeley’s Freight & Salvage is bringing back its annual street festival this fall, with three stages of performers, for the first time with attendees since the summer of 2019. Freight Fest debuted the prior year. In 2019, 4,500 people filled Addison Street in downtown Berkeley. The following year it was turned into a streaming event due to the pandemic.

The eclectic lineup for the free event on Oct. 14 includes Bay Area rapper Lyrics Born, as well as Grammy winners Alphabet Rockers, Malian-influenced psychedelic rock band Orchestra Gold, Anthony Paule Soul Orchestra and Afro-Latin combo QUITAPENAS.

Inside the Freight & Salvage, seven artists from Bay Area nonprofit label Little Village will perform 20-minute sets throughout the afternoon.

The event will run from 10:30 a.m. through 6 p.m. on Addison Street between Shattuck and Milvia
 streets.

Local food venders will be on-site, while beer and wine will be sold indoors (where additional performances will be held) as well a beer tent on Addison Street. A variety of childrens’ activities like face painting and balloon animals will also be available.
