Ozomatli, Joe Bataan prep for inaugural Latin Rock on the Dock on Mare Island
The first Latin Rock on the Dock Music Festival will bring together a diverse lineup of music artists with a helping of food, craft beer and spirits along with the unique vista of Mare Island Waterfront in Vallejo. Topping the bill are Ozomatli and Latino soul musician Joe Bataan, rock band Puro Bandido and soul group Thee Sinseers.
“We are thrilled to be offering this day of amazing Latin music to Bay Area fans,” festival founder Kevin Frazier said in a written statement. “Expect a great day full of sunshine, great food and drink, and amazing vibes.”
Frazer’s company, Frazer Trager Presents, runs several theaters in Vallejo and Fairfield, as well as the Dock of Bay music fest on Mare Island. The new festival is the latest concert aimed at getting the attention of Spanish-speaking audiences, following Napa’s Festival La Onda, produced by the people behind BottleRock Napa Valley.
The festival will take place July 27, with gates opening at 12:30 p.m. and the music running from 1 to 9:30 p.m. Tickets are available on the festival’s website.
Attendees can bring portable chairs and blankets for the general admission areas or take in the performances from a VIP section. VIP tickets include free parking closest to the entrance, a separate entrance, shaded viewing areas and indoor restrooms. There’s also a “premium VIP” ticket class that included seats closest to the stage, gift bag, a glass of champagne and bites.
Daily tickets range from $102 for general admission to $265.
