Free wellness services for hip-hop artists and workers available Saturday

MusiCares and East Bay outreach and social services organization Kingmakers of Oakland have partnered to hold a health and wellness event on Saturday for established Bay Area hip-hop music professionals.

The event will include complimentary wellness services like vision screenings and eyewear, hearing exams with custom ear molds, chiropractic care, massage therapy and more. Reservations are free but required online for one of two two-hour sessions. The services are offered on a first come, first served basis.

It’s open to any Bay Area hip-hop music industry professionals with at least five years in the industry or at least six credits on commercially released recordings.

The event will take place between 10 a.m. at 2 p.m. at 1035 7th St. in Oakland.

Kingmakers of Oakland focused on improving educational and life outcomes for Black boys. The organization fosters equity by aiming to raise community leaders. The organization’s director of Youth Voice and Leadership, as well as the leader of its music label, hip-hop artist and educator Jahi Torman, will; appear at there event.

MusiCares is the charity outreach arm associated with the Recording Academy, and has a goal of supporting those in the music industry.
