Funk bassist Thundercat, soul crooner Lee Fields and Bay Area cumbia septet Combo Tezeta will perform a free show at Robin Williams Meadow in Golden Gate Park on Oct. 20, courtesy of local concert producer Noise Pop.

Co-presented with nonprofit Civic Joy Fund, the show is the finale to the 2024 Summer of Music program that included more than 570 free concerts throughout San Francisco in partnership with 85 small businesses.

While tickets are free, reservations are required.

The concert will run from 12:30 to 6 p.m. Food trucks, artisans and local venders will be on hand as well.

Civic Joy Fund originally created Summer of Music in 2023 to help businesses recover post-pandemic by encouraging patrons to shop, dine, drink and spend their dollars locally by offering free music entertainment. The 2024 season expanded to now include Sunday performances across six city neighborhoods: Castro, Haight, Inner Sunset, Marina, North Beach and Mission from early June through early September.

Musicians or business interested in taking part in 2025 can visit the program’s website.
