Tyler, The Creator, The Killers, Sturgill Simpson lead 2024 Outside Lands bill
Rapper Tyler, The Creator, Las Vegas rock stalwarts The Killers and alt-country singer-songwriter Sturgill Simpson top the marquee for the 2024 edition of San Francisco’s Outside Lands Music Festival. The event will return to Golden Gate Gate Park on August 9, 10 and 11.
This festival also includes Post Malone, a prior headliner, performing country songs.
This year’s event also marks the first time promotor Another Planet Entertainment will keep the polo field stage footprint in place for the Golden Gate Park Concert Series the following weekend, featuring a sold-out show with System of a Down and Deftones.
The Outside Lands lineup also includes The Postal Service, Grace Jones, Reneé Rapp, Victoria Monét and The Last Dinner Party. Lineups and offerings for the festival’s food and beverage, art and other attractions will be announced at a later date. Also returning this year is the Dolores’ stage, an inclusive dance floor space that serves as a celebration of the queer and trans communities, as well as the DIY spaces throughout San Francisco. The lineup for that stage will also come at a later date. The SOMA area is returning to Marx Meadow, but this time with a new, open air format. An often crowded tent will be replaced by an expanded dance space that will include a DJ set by actor Idris Elba, Uncle Waffles and The Blessed Madonna.
The general ticket sale will begin on Wednesday, April 24 via the festival’s website. Outside Lands typically brings in about 75,000 music fans per day and often sells out.
“Every year we start with a blank canvas and because of the diverse and sophisticated palette of Bay Area music fans, we get to program a festival that is not only multigenerational but shows an incredible range of genres and musical subcultures,” said Allen Scott, Another Planet’s head of concerts and festivals, in a written statement.
Three-day general admission tickets cost $465 plus fees. Three-day “GA+” tickets are $715 plus fees. Three-day VIP tickets are $1,075 plus fees. For the rich and famous, three-day Golden Gate Club tickets cost $5,095 plus fees.
The festival is again offering payment plans for GA, GA+ and VIP tickets. The downpayments are $99 for GA, $159 for GA+ and $199 down for VIP.
