Paul Simon announces summer tour, 3 San Francisco shows

Paul Simon: A Quiet Celebration Tour.
Music icon Paul Simon on Tuesday announced a spring and summer tour supporting his latest album, Seven Psalms, which will see him performing three concerts at Davies Symphony Hall in July.
For the A Quiet Celebration Tour, Simon chose venues with standout acoustics, which will help the artist, who experienced severe hearing loss over the last few years. The Sam Francisco shows, on July 19, 21 and 22, are produced by Another Planet Entertainment. Tickets go on sale online on Friday, Feb. 21, at 10 a.m.
Simon partnered with the Stanford Initiative to Cure Hearing Loss and his own production team to redesign his stage setup to make performing possible. This included moving monitors to surround him.
Recorded entirely on acoustic instruments and performed predominantly by Simon, Seven Psalms was released as a single piece of continuous music in seven movements.
Simon’s band will include Caleb Burhans (viola), Eugene Friesen (cello), Jamey Haddad (percussion), Gyan Riley (guitar), Mick Rossi (piano, keys), Andy Snitzer (saxophone), Nancy Stagnitta (flute) and Mark Stewart (guitar). Steve Gadd and Matt Chamberlin will alternate on drums.
Paul Simon’s last public concert in the Bay Area was at Outside Lands Music Festival, in 2019.
