Pearl Jam announces rescheduled Oakland Arena dates

Pearl Jam on Monday announced make-up dates to its postponed 2020 tour, along with two shows at Oakland Arena on May 12 and 13, in less than two short months.
Pearl Jam was among the first arena act to postpone a 2020 tour, which was originally scheduled to make a stop in Oakland in April 2020. The rescheduled tour (see all the dates below) now includes new shows in Fresno, Sacramento, Las Vegas and Camden, New Jersey.
Josh Klinghoffer’s solo project, Pluralone, will open for Pearl Jam on this tour. Klinghoffer will also join Pearl Jam as a touring member.
A presale for Pearl Jam Ten Club members began on Sunday. Public tickets go on sale on March 29 at 10 a.m. local time through the Ticketmaster Verified Fan platform, which is open now for registration for all shows. To register, go to verifiedfan.ticketmaster.com/pearljam.
Pearl Jam will pay $200 per ton for carbon dioxide mitigation from the Gigaton tour, meant to offset emissions.
“We are proud of our prior efforts to mitigate our inevitable carbon footprint from touring over the past 20 years but the time to multiply that effort is clearly right now,” Stone Gossard said in a news release. “By committing to this aggressive pricing, we hope to equally amplify our efforts and gather partners who share our urgency to make the investments and innovations required to move our world to a more conscious, carbon balanced economy.”
The tour is in support of the band’s 2020 album, Gigaton, the band’s first since 2013’s Lightning Bolt. Eddie Vedder also released a solo album, Earthling, in February. It wasn’t clear if he would be performing any of that material.
