Pearl Jam announces new album, tour to go with BottleRock gig
Pearl Jam has announced a new album and tour to go along with the Seattle band’s previously announced gig at BottleRock Napa.
The rockers will release Dark Matter, their 12th studio LP, on their Monkeywrench Records and Republic on April 19. The band also announced a 35-date tour that will kick off a couple of week’s prior to the album’s release. The tour includes a stop at Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center on May 13. Pearl Jam plays BottleRock on May 25.
Dark Matter, the band’s first album since 2020’s Gigaton, was produced by Andrew Watt. The band recorded at Rick Rubin’s Shangri-La Studios in Malibu and recorded the entire album within three weeks.
“We’re still looking for ways to communicate,” Eddie Vedder said in a written release. “We’re at this time in our lives when you could do it or you could not do it, but we still care about putting something out there that is meaningful and we hopefully think is our best work. No hyperbole, I think this is our best work.”
Their tour kicks off on May 4 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia. Deep Sea Diver and Glen Hansard will open North America dates, while U.K., Europe and South Pacific openers include The Murder Capital, Richard Ashcroft and Pixies.
Pearl Jam Ten Club members will have the first crack at tickets. Only members active as of Feb. 12 are able to participate. Registration for a Ticketmaster sale is now open at that ticket seller’s website and must be completed by Sunday, Feb. 18 at 11:59 p.m. local time. This will be the only way for fans to participate in the sale. Registration does not guarantee access.
Tickets will be mobile-only, and cannot be transferred or resold, other than through Ticketmaster’s Face Value Ticket Exchange beginning at a later date. U2 is currently using the same system for its residency at Sphere in Las Vegas, though numerous instances of Ticketmaster itself buyng tickets on the exchange and reselling them above face value have been reported.
These rules apply everywhere other than Illinois and New York, where non-transferability is prohibited by law.
