Porter Robinson’s Second Sky Festival to return to the East Bay in September
EDM producer and songwriter Porter Robinson aims to bring the one of the first music festivals of the COVID-19 pandemic era to the Bay Area with the return of his Second Sky Music Festival this fall. There’s one catch: Attendees have to be 18 or older by time of the event.
This week the acclaimed artist announced the second in-person edition of the festival, which will include himself as a performer as well as other electronica acts like Madeon, Jai Wolf, Toro Y Moi, Jon Hopkins, Jacob Collier, Wavedash, KNOWER and Jyocho. It’s scheduled to take place on Sept. 18 and 19 at Cesar E. Chavez Park in Berkeley, with all of the acts performing on both days.
Robinson has also produced two virtual editions of the fest, which he called Secret Sky, one in spring of 2020 and another lat April.
Also last month, Robinson released his second album, Nurture. It followed seven years since his debut.
Second Sky is produced by Goldenvoice. Tickets range in price from $130 for for general admission to $250 for VIP, not including service fees. Parking will be made available at an additional cost. A presale took place on May 5, but no additional information was immediately available about the general on-sale date. For more information, check the festival’s website.
