Rage Against the Machine announces return on social media

A reunited Rage Against The Machine announced Friday that the band would be playing several shows next spring, including two shows in Indio—presumably as the headliners at Coachella—on April 10 and 17, the two weekends the festival will take place.

The announcements were made on the band’s social media accounts with little fanfare, and have since confirmed what the posts implied. The shows will be the first featuring frontman Zack de la Rocha, guitarist Tom Morello, drummer Brad Wilk and bassist Tim Commerford. Rage last reunited in 2011 for the L.A. Rising concert.

More recently, Morello, Wilk and Commerford have been performing with Public Enemy’s Chuck D and Cypress Hill‘s B-Real as Prophets Of Rage. De la Rocha, meanwhile, has reportedly been working on solo material for several years.

The announced dates are:

  • El Paso on March 26
  • Las Cruces, NM, on March 28
  • Phoenix on March 30
  • Indio on April 10
  • Indio on April 17
