San Jose Jazz Summer Fest announces second round of performers

San Jose Jazz Summer Fest producers have announced the second wave of performers at the 32nd annual event this August. Just announced acts include Lee Fields & The Expressions, Durand Jones & The Indications and Stanley Clarke, who will join previously announced headliner Ledisi.

Additional new acts include: Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Raul Midón and Alex Cuba, Keyon Harrold, Cameron Graves, Omar Sosa Quarteto Americanos, Isaiah Sharkey, Nellie McKay and Urban Renewal Project.

Previously announced act CeeLo Green will no longer be performing at the festival.

The festival will run from Aug. 12 through Aug. 14 in and around Plaza de César Chavez Park in downtown San Jose. Nearly 100 acts will perform on eight stages.



The other acts just announced are:

Mosaic America Presents Rightstarter; Kim Nalley Quartet; LMR Jazz Orchestra Featuring Tierney Sutton; Nicole Henry; Kid Anderson; Peter Bernstein & Bruce Forman; Adrien Brandeis; JC Smith Band; Andrew “Jr. Boy” Jones Blues Band; Alabama Mike & The Mighty Revelators; Curley Taylor & Zydeco Trouble; Marina Crouse Band Featuring Garth Webber; Joel Ross; Caroline Chung; Takuya Kuroda Quintet; Cheflee; MK Double Trio; Oddity; U-19’s; Amy D.

Tickets are available at the San Jose Jazz website and range between $30 to $90 per day and between $75 and $495 for a three-day pass.



The Sobrato Organization Main Stage will be the home of Green and Ledisi, and other Grammy-winning artists, the Blues/Big Easy Stage  will feature blues and New Orleans acts in the south portion of Plaza de César Chavez Park. San Jose Museum of Art Stage will spotlight youth talent performing free shows on Aug. 13 and 14.

The Latin Tropical Stage will be a free, community venue this year, showcasing timba, son, mambo and Jíbaro. The salsa lineup will be announced in the coming weeks.

Other performances will be held at Montgomery Theater, Hammer Theatre, Hammer4 and SJZ Break Room. The full lineup is available on the San Jose Jazz website.
