Gregory Porter, Anthony Hamilton, The Soul Rebels among San Jose Jazz Summer Fest headliners
Grammy-winning jazz artist Gregory Porter, funk and jazz bassist Marcus Miller, platinum-selling artist Anthony Hamilton, African band W.I.T.C.H. and New Orleans’ The Soul Rebels will headline with 33rd annual San Jose Jazz Summer Fest this August.
The three day event will run from Aug. 11 to 13 on eight stages at Plaza de César Chavez Park in downtown San Jose, including more than 100 acts in all.
The lineup includes performed of jazz, R&B, Latin music, salsa, global music and other genres.
“For 2023, we’ve looked closely at our role as a cultural organization and the responsibility we have to the residents of the greater South Bay,” San Jose Jazz Executive Director Brendan Rawson said in a written statement. “We are very passionate about providing top tier programming that’s both international in scope as well as reflective of San Jose.”
Other announced acts include The Bad Plus, Grace Kelly, Veronica Swift, Marcus Shelby New Orchestra featuring Tiffany Austin, Shayna Steele, Sunny War, Vanessa Collier, Patrice Rushen, Billy Childs, Vocal Gents of Jazz with Kenny Washington, Nicolas Bearde & Jamie Davis, Gabi Hartmann, Luca Stricagnoli, Halie Loren, Ronit Widmann-Levy & Angel Romero, Benny Benack III, Isaiah Collier & the Chosen Few, Soul Message Band, Maraca & Orquesta La Moderna Tradición, Lalin St. Juste of The Seshen, Basivibe, Stimulator Jones, Ian Santillano, Ensemble Contratiemple Afrovenezuelan Jazz and others.
Three-day tickets range from $115 for advance general admission to $610 for advance VIP. Three-day children’s tickets are $30. There’s also a “priority access” category that’s $310 in advance of the event. Prices at the gate are higher. Tickets are available at the San Jose Jazz website.
