The musicians of the San Francisco Opera Orchestra will perform a free community concert on Sunday at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music at 50 Oak St.

The concert, Harmonic Interlude, will be conducted by opera orchestra first violinist Dawn Harms, and presented without intermission starting at 3 p.m. It’s meant to be a way for the musicians of the opera to connect with the community and will include a post-show reception with snacks and drinks for attendees. Reservations are not required.

In 2020, opera musicians started a nonprofit organization to share performances free of charge, and they have so far performed to people in hospice, senior homes and communities, and to military veterans. At the free performance, the orchestra will collect donations that will benefit the nonprofit and support future performances.
