SF Sketchfest returns with Ricky Gervais, tribute to Twin Peaks, much more

Ricky Gervais, Jane Lynch, Danny McBride and the casts of Twin Peaks and Animal House are among the fresh faces headlining the 2018 incarnation of the SF Sketchfest comedy festival.

Other performers will include Lewis Black, Dick Cavett, Paul F. Tompkins, Christopher Guest, Julie Benz, David Cross, Jane Kaczmarek and Busy Phillipps, with even more performers and shows announced and more to be announced in the coming weeks.

Tickets to the 17th annual event will go on sale Friday at 12 p.m. The festival, again presented by Audible, will host more than 200 performances between Jan. 11 and 28. Over the course of 17 days, performances will include sketch, stand-up, alternative comedy, music, improv, films, tributes, live podcasts, workshops and panel discussions.

SF Sketchfest is well-known for its tribute panels and this year is no exception. Ricky Gervais, who will appear in conversation with Christopher Guest; Dick Cavett will be feted on the 50th anniversary of his debut on The Dick Cavett Show with participation from John Hodgman; Jane Lynch and Danny McBride and Jody Hill.  A tribute to Twin Peaks will include Dana Ashbrook, Josh Fadem, Harry Goaz, Michael Horse, Matthew Lillard, James Marshall, Kimmy Robertson, Ray Wise and others, and will be followed by a Music of Twin Peaks concert.

Tickets to each event are $15 to $50, can be purchased at the festival’s website, where the complete schedule is also available. A rundown of performances is listed below.
