Sleater-Kinney announced Monday a New Year’s Eve show set for Dec. 31 at The Masonic in San Francisco.

After a nine-year hiatus, Portland, Oregon-based indie and riot grrrl rock trio returned to the stage in 2015 with No Cities to Love. The group played a pair of shows at The Masonic in May 2015 in support of the record.

The group cut its teeth in the 1990s and early 2000s with fiery, punk-inspired rock, evident on records such as 1997’s Dig Me Out, 2002’s One Beat and 2005’s The Woods.

While on hiatus from 2006 to 2015, the trio’s members stayed busy. Singer/guitarist Carrie Brownstein contributed to NPR, launched the IFC TV series “Portlandia” and formed Wild Flag, a supergroup that included Sleater-Kinney drummer Janet Weiss, Helium and Ex Hex singer/guitarist Mary Timony and The Minders keyboardist Rebecca Cole.

Singer-guitarist Corin Tucker launched a solo career, dropping the albums 1,000 Years in 2010 and Kill My Blues in 2012.

Tickets are $55 for general admission floor and $75 as well as $55 for reserved balcony seats. For ticket information, visit LiveNation.com.
