Bluesman Gary Clark Jr. and alt-rock musician Grace Potter will headline UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals’ 16th annual Notes & Words concert, which this year will take place at the Masonic in San Francisco on April 5.

The benefit concert will include performances by vocal ensemble CO-LLAB Choir and Oakland sibling band MeloDious, as well as readings by best-selling author Gabrielle Zevin (“Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow”) and scholar, writer and researcher Cat Bohannon.

All of the proceeds will go to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals, the top pediatric hospital for cancer care, cardiology and urology in Northern California. The money raised helps offset medical expenses. The event has raised $17 million over the years.

Past performers have included musicians Alanis Morissette, Chris Martin, Dave Grohl, Beck, Brittney Howard, Daveed Diggs and authors Nicholas D. Kristof, Michael Lewis, Andrew Sean Greer, Kelly Corrigan, Anna Quindlen and Margaret Atwood.

Gabrielle Zevin has written several acclaimed novels, including “The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry,” which was made into a film, and “Young Jane Young.” Her novels have been translated into 40 languages. She lives in Los Angeles.

The essays and poems of Cat Bohannon have appeared in Scientific American, Mind, Science Magazine, The Best American Nonrequired Reading, The Georgia Review, The Story Collider and Poets Against the War. She lives with her family in Seattle.

Tickets for the benefit show start at $125. For more information, visit the event’s website. The event includes pre-show cocktail party and an after-party with desserts, drinks and dancing.
