SAN FRANCISCO — A Boogie Wit da Hoodie brought both melodies and bars to Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on Saturday.

New York rapper Artist Julius Dubose, 28, performed songs about his upbringing and past relationships. A Boogie made his mark in 2017 with “Drowning,” which peaked at no. 38 on the Billboard Hot 100 and racked up 950 million streams.

The stage production resembled the city skyline of Highbridge, the Bronx neighborhood in which he grew up. The rapper set the tone early with the aggressive  “Jungle,” from his 2016 debut album, Artist.

After this explosive intro came “Ransom,” off 2016 EP TBA and “Wild Thots,” his remix of “Wild Thoughts” by DJ Khaled, Rihanna and Bryson Tiller. He was joined on stage by several dancers, who’d appear throughout the show and then disappear.

Following “February,” A Boogie Wit da Hoodie paid homage to one of his own influences.

“If you’ve ever lost someone you love, put your light up to the sky, we’re doing this for my brother, we love you and miss you PnB Rock,” DJ Ominaya announced, introducing the duo’s collaborative track, “Lovin’.” Images of PnB Rock filled up the screen while A Boogie performed.

Ominaya kept the energy up during the show, using his assertiveness and creative wordplay to transition between songs.

There was also a tribute to late New York rapper Pop Smoke, where A Boogie rapped their collab, “Hello.”

The rapper showcased more of his aggression in tracks like “D.T.B (Interlude),” “Timeless” and “Mood Swings.” Other highlights with versatile melodies included “Me and My Guitar,” “Still Think About You” and “Look Back At It.” He concluded with his hit “Drowning,” off 2017’s The Bigger Artist. After the beat dropped, the room was flooded with a deep blue hue and attendees moshed to the rest of the song.

“Open it up one more time!” Ominaya shouted before playing the track again to end the evening. The DJ also preceded A Boogie with a set of his own, leading a hit-filed set with a curveball in David Guetta’s and Sia’s “Titanium.” He transitioned the EDM track into XXXTentacion’s “Look At Me!” which would go into Soulja Boy’s “Crank That” and Kendrick Lamar’s “m.A.A.d City.”

Bay Area rappers Lil Yee and Lil Pete tag-teamed a 20-minute set, going bar for bar.

DJ JAYC (who was celebrating his birthday) and TheARTI$T spun hype tracks like Travis Scott’s “FE!N” and performed three love tunes, showcasing their ability to harmonize.

Bay Area DJ Shabazzo performed a set of his own, spinning modern songs like Veeze’s “Not a Drill” and Kamaiyah’s and YG’s “F*ck It Up.”
