SAN FRANCISCO — SahBabii brought his grungy take on trap to the Regency Ballroom on Saturday night at a stop on his Resurrection Tour.
The 28-year-old rapper, whose name is Saaheem Malik, first appeared sitting at a dinner table, clad in a suit and tie. He opened with a slower-paced track, “Don Quan Intro,” off his latest album.
Following the intro, SahBabii turned up the energy by showcasing his aggressive delivery. This included a run of cuts from his latest album, 2024’s Saaheem, such as “All The Way” and “Roll Wit Me.”
Afterward, the rapper disappeared for a few minutes, before a curtain dropped, revealing him on top of a house from which sprouted gigantic tentacles, a nod to his 2018 album, Squidtastic.
“Can we take it back to some OG shit?” SahBabii shouted.

The rapper performed tracks from his early songbook, with the likes of 2017’s “Bullshit,” 2018’s “Anime World” and, of course, 2018’s “Squidrific.”
SahBabii showcased his vocals in the purest form, with no backing tracks, as he rapped nearly every word without skipping a beat.
After the throwbacks, he brought it back to his latest album with “Belt Boyz.” He removed his belt and swung it around as he went.
After inviting collaborator T3 to the stage, the two performed a few of their mellower cuts like “Marsupial Superstars” and “Boyfriend.” The reprieve was temporary, however, as hype tracks “Breadhead,” “Mirror Picz” and “Purple Ape” followed.
“Can we take me back to where this shit all started?” SahBabii shouted, maneuvering into 2017’s song “Pull Up Wit ah Stick.”
He rounded out the show with a dance party.
“San Fran, I want to bring somebody on stage!” he announced before picking about 10 attendees to join him for a final song, “Viking,” while encouraging others to start a mosh pit.
Rising underground rapper Che (Chase Shaun Mitchell) opened the show with his own set of aggressive songs. The 18-year-old’s set featured tracks with heavy bass. He led off with a fan favorite in “I Rot, I Rot.,” followed by “Sayso” and “Miley Cyrus.” Che skipped around and ran back and forth across the stage while performing.
