Quite frankly, I’m surprised how quickly Smallpools’ success has grown in a year. Not because they’re not good, but because being able to sell out a San Francisco venue, twice no less, has proved to be difficult in 2014. The Los Angeles quartet played an 11-song set; but it was its longest yet.Openers Magic Man, from Boston, played nearly as long, and were just as entertaining.
