SAN FRANCISCO — Canadian rapper Nav has worked with the likes of Lil Uzi Vert, Travis Scott and Drake, is signed to The Weeknd’s XO label, and his first EP was produced by Metro Boomin. His cred also includes producing Drake’s infamous diss-track “Back to Back.”

On Thursday, 33-year-old artist Navraj Singh Goraya brought his Never Sleep tour to the Masonic. The Toronto native brought out a list of old and new tracks that had the audience moving throughout his nearly hour-long set.

DJ TJ Banks briefly warmed up the crowd with a teaser from one of his Metro-Boomin-produced tracks and Lil Uzi Vert’s “XO Tour Life” and “Just Wanna Rock.” Then Nav came out to his collab with Travis Scott and Lil Baby, “Never Sleep,” rocking a black leather jacket over a black T-shirt and cargo jeans with a gold Cuban link chain on his chest.

After greeting the audience, he started hopping around as the music switched to “To My Grave.” Nav delivered his performance with aggressive swagger, effortlessly engaging with fans both close and farther away. He was even more animated on “Dead Shot,” shouting out some of the lyrics in sync with the audience, punctuating his vocals with high-spirited dancing and jumping.

Next, Nav launched into the mid-tempo “Wanted You,” his collaboration with Lil Uzi Vert. He slowed it even more with “One Time” (a Don Tolliver collaboration), before launching into Travis Scott feature “beibs in the trap.” From there, the pace quickened with “Up,” “Good For It” and older cut “Ten Toes Down,” before asking fans to throw up their phone lights and wave their hands in the air for “Myself.”

Nav went on to speak about one of his best friends, Young Thug, who’s currently in jail facing trial for racketeering and gang charges.

“When I say ‘Free,’ you say ‘Thug,'” he demanded, launching into his collaboration with the jailed artist, “No Debate.”

His set included his feature on Mustard’s “Baguettes in The Face,” which had a fun guitar intro, and more collabs like “Recap” (Don Tolliver) and “Interstellar” (Lil Uzi Vert).

“If you were born and raised in the Bay let me get a ‘Hell yeah,'” he yelled, before inviting Oakland Rapper Offset Jim onto the stage to perform “No Pressure.”

Nav closed out his set with “Tap,” “Held Me Down,” “Call Me,” “Champion,” Don Tolliver cover “Lemonade” and “Turks.”

SoFaygo preceded the headline act. The 21-year old Atlanta rapper came out in all black except for a green beanie to “Shut Up,” from his 2022 album, Pink Heartz. Smoothly, the rapper (Andre Dontrel Burt, Jr.) turned to his DJ and asked him to “put on some new shit.”

“Say less,” the DJ replied, transitioning to the next track, “Extra.”

The animated rapper bopped back and forth across the stage, performing a handful of songs like “Hell Yeah,” “Blitz V2,” “Everyday,” “Stay Awake” and “TookOff” without missing a beat. His voice, though amplified with Auto-Tune, was strong. Additionally, SoFaygo played referee, stopping the performance more than once and having people step backward after there was a strong crowd surge, crushing those in the front. Medics responded to the front as a precaution.

RealestK

Toronto singer-songwriter Realestk (Rony Kordab) opened the show. The 18-year-old got on the map with 2021 single “WFM” and worked with Nav on “Lost Me,” from Nav’s fourth album, Demons Protected by Angels.

Wearing baggy jeans and an oversized Avirex bomber jacket, his hair pulled back into a ponytail, he was joined by a DJ who doubled as a hype man. Realestk took turns pacing the stage, hitting a few isolated dance moves and singing.

He showed off his high tenor, relying on backing tracks to support his vocals while he hit some high runs. During “Bruce Wayne,” “I Think I Do” and “Love Me,” he gestured at the crowd and grabbed his crotch. The end of his performance included fan favorites like “Toxic” and “WFM.”
