Bay Area artists to perform 17-hour streaming event this weekend
More than two dozen Bay Area artists have quickly organized a two-day streaming event called “Pandemica Online.” Led by Avi Vincour of Goodnight, Texas, the the event will run from 9:15 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and from 10:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Each artist will be streaming on Facebook Live. The performances will be solo, or accompanied with quarantined roommates or spouses. Artists will also. be accepting donations to their individual PayPal or Venmo accounts.
The lineup includes Rainbow Girls, Ben Morrison of the Brothers Comatose, Lapel, The T Sisters, The Sam Chase and many more.
“Music will be a force that gets all of us, across the world, through this crisis,” The Family Crest’s Laura Bergmann said earlier this week. “Life without music is like living in shades of gray. So I’m hopeful that when someone goes to stream their favorite band, maybe they’ll go buy the record and then stream the album. If you’re binging Netflix and you hear a song you really like, Shazam it and go find that artist and support them. Work to discover new musicians and share their music and buy the single or the EP or the album. If music is helping sustain you, then you have the power to take a meaningful step to ensure that the artist can also keep going.”
