Metallica moves All Within My Hands Foundation benefit show to L.A.
Metallica’s nonprofit All Within My Hands Foundation’s annual benefit show and auction will move to Los Angeles this year, with a show at L.A.’s Microsoft Theater on Dec. 16.
The “Helping Hands Concert & Auction” began in San Francisco in 2018. In 2020, it was staged virtually as a pay-per-view event during the pandemic.
Tickets to the L.A. show go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. with a two-ticket limit per person. All of the money raised, including ticket fees and for the auctioned items, will directly go to people in need. The band establish the All Within My Hands Foundation in 2017 and has contributed millions of dollars to combat food insecurity, student education, arts and entertainment industry workers during the pandemic, as well as firefighting efforts and disaster recovery. The four members of Metallica, as well as the AWH board of directors, pay for the costs of running the organization.
Tickets will be available here.
The 2020 live-streamed event raised more than $1.8 million, which went to Feeding America, the American Association of Community Colleges and various COVID and disaster relief efforts, according to the band.
