This week in Tuesday Tracks, we bring you SoCal flavors from Los Saints, sunshine pop by GospelbeacH and viisi, grungy alt-rock by Bnny, tight prog rock by The Omnific and angsty heavy emo by TX2.

The Omnific, “Base Camp” – Led by two bassists and a drummer with a mullet as tight as his licks, the new tune by The Omnific shows the power trio’s talent. The single has a certain je ne sais quoi that gets listeners simultaneously pumped up and mellowed out. If you’re a fan of a solid instrumental featuring very skilled musicians, “Base Camp” is essential. Don’t miss the harmonics between the two bass parts. The band’s second album, The Law of Augmenting Returns, is due out June 7.

Bnny, “Something Blue” – The past keeps catching up with Bnny as their single “Something Blue” handles with ease. If you’re just starting a new relationship and want someone to help you prepare for one, let Bnny be your love guru—at least when it comes to teaching you what mistakes not to make. Over squelching guitars and and an angry simmer, vocalist Jessica Viscius and company will tell you how to deal with those lingering past memories of love.

TX2 featuring Johnny 3 Tears, “Vendetta” – Fort Collins, Colo. artist Evan Thomas, who makes music as TX2, brings back the golden era of breakdowns with his in-your-face single “Vendetta,” featuring the Hollywood Undead’s Johnny 3 Tears, that will make metal skeptics think twice about metal-laden emo. Thomas has said the song was inspired by a “wave of internet hate” that directly fueled his emotion on it. TX2 is supporting NOAHFINNCE on his North American tour, which hits the Cornerstone in Berkeley on April 4.

viisi, “i left my hometown” – Matthew Borley wrote this song about taking the leap and leaving home to pursue his music dreams as viisi (which is “five” in Finnish. After being introduced to ’90s hip-hop by his father, he released his first single while still in high school, gigged through Europe and collaborated with Chelsea Collins and Kayla DiVenere. His new single is the type of song you listen to with the windows down, volume blasting. “I left my hometown” keeps you guessing about what you’re listening to, with hints of pop, hip-hop and rock all present.

GospelbeacH, “Nothin’ But a Fool” –  Filled with hints of Tom Petty and Fleetwood Mac, GospelbeacH delivers a breezy sunshiny pop tune from what is supposed to be the final album from Brent Rademaker and friends, Wiggle Your Fingers. Filled with relatable lyrics about a joyless relationship, such as “I’m lying through my teeth when I say I’m having fun,” and an tone that will keep you jamming along, “Nothin’ But a Fool” is a must listen.

Los Saints, “Never Said” – Chula Vista’s Los Saints knows who they are and what they are delivering, a song that doesn’t waste time building and instead comes crashing at you all at once. Guitarist Angel Mariscal said the band wrote the song for anyone who’s ever used dating app Tinder, about the great people you can meet along the way among all the misses. You’ll find “Never Said” from the band’s next album, Certified, out on July 26.

Joseph’s pick: Bnny beautifully captures memories of love that creep up on “Something Blue.” Frontwoman Jessica Viscius leads with vocals that carry a unique subtlety and frames nostalgia with a laidback demeanor.
