Sammy Hagar, James Hetfield announce annual Acoustic-4-A-Cure lineup
Annual benefit concert Acoustic-4-A-Cure returns to The Fillmore on May 15 for a fourth year. The concert, which doubles as a fundraiser, promotes awareness and raises money for the pediatric cancer program at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital. Tickets will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m.
This year’s lineup includes Mick Fleetwood, Pat Benatar, Sarah McLachlan, Steve Vai and Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters, who will fill in for Metallica’s James Hetfield (who’s on tour at the moment). Sammy Hagar will attend and perform as usual.
Hetfield and Hagar started the annual tradition for the purpose of helping in the fight against pediatric cancer, and recruited other big name musicians to help their cause and spread their message. All of the proceeds will go to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.
The annual concert features acoustic collaborations and impromptu jam sessions. General admission tickets cost $150 and include a commemorative t-shirt. A limited amount of VIP tickets will be sold for $500 and include a special viewing area, t-shirt, poster, complimentary food and drinks and more.
