The Mill Valley Music Festival will expand to two days this spring and include performances by Cake, Michael Franti & Spearhead and others, producer Mill Valley Chamber announced on Tuesday.
The festival will take place May 13 and 14, and two-day tickets went on sale Tuesday. Two-day general admission tickets start at $219, two-day general admission “plus” tickets start at $339 and two-day VIP tickets start at $449. They are available at the festival’s website.
The lineup includes New Orleans’ Tank and the Bangas, Jerry Harrison and Adrian Belew’s REMAIN IN LIGHT, Seattle septet The Dip; retro soul acts Durand Jones and Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears, Appalachian singer-songwriter Valerie June, Oakland such-rockers Orchestra Gold and the Bay Area rock band The Alive.
Daily performance schedule to be released at a later date.
“With a commitment to creativity, our team worked its tail off to create something new and exciting in this town we love,” said Jim Welte, director of the Mill Valley Chamber. “Come springtime, we hope the whole Bay Area will make a weekend trip to explore and see for themselves what makes Mill Valley such a special and unique place. As an organization, we continue to champion our community’s multi-faceted arts & culture, while creating innovative opportunities to connect people.”
The inaugural Mill Valley Music Festival was a success, organizers said, brining several thousand visitors to the city’s Friends Field, next to the Mill Valley Community Center. The event will once again offer an assortment of Marin County artisans, food vendors and philanthropic organizations, as well as family-friendly activities, art installations, local craft beer and more.
