OAKLAND — Black Star, the hip-pop duo composed of rappers Mos Def and Talib Kweli, played their only NorCal show last night at the Fox Theater. The Brooklyn duo performed its strongest material in front of an excited crowd who sang along through the entire gig. A few Southern California shows are next for the Kweli and Mos Def.

Black Star was accompanied by Oakland beatboxing soul band Antique Naked Soul and Los Angeles rapper Jallal.
