SAN FRANCISCO — Chevelle began its first 2017 tour, supporting new album The North Corridor with a sold-out show at the Fillmore. The rock trio was accompanied by the San Francisco alt-rockers Black Map and Dinosaur Pile-Up from Leeds, both of whom delivered solid opening performances.

Kicking off with older material like “Another Know It All,” “Das Clincher” and “Take Out the Gunman,” the Illinois hard rock band turned to the new album with “Door to Door Cannibals,” “Joyride (Omen)” and “Rivers.” Some sang along, while many preferred to join a growing mosh pit or waves of crowd-surfers.

The 90-minute set included more of the band’s popular songs like “Red.” Chevelle has nine more West Coast shows on its current tour before joining Avenged Sevenfold for two months in Europe.
