MOUNTAIN VIEW — The Offspring and Sublime with Rome continue to blow fans away during the second leg of their tour, nearly rocking the Shoreline Amphitheater to the ground Wednesday. Nearing the end of their tour, both bands played the hits and kept the audience on its feet the whole time.

After The Menzingers warmed up the crowd with a 40-minute set, The Offspring took the stage to really drive the energy up. Following crowd favorites like “Original Prankster” and “(Can’t Get My) Head Around You,” frontman Dexter Holland took the stage with only a piano. Holland prefaced the song “Gone Away” with a dedication to a passed loved one and any missing “bright lights” of the world. By the end of the song, the amphitheater was a sea of lights. The song ended with a bang, as the rest of the band joined Holland on stage.

The Offspring tied up its set with even more beloved anthems, such as “Why Don’t You Get A Job” and “Pretty Fly (for a White Guy).” As set-closer “Self-Esteem” began, fans went nuts, and with the frontman’s enticing, chanted along to the lyrics. Once The Offspring ends its tour with Sublime with Rome, the band is off to British Columbia.

Sublime with Rome charged onto the stage and took control quickly with the fast-paced, down-and-dirty “Date Rape.” With rapid fire, the band played one hit after another, all of which drove the crowd wild. Following “April 26th, 1992 (Miami)” and “Wrong Way,” the band showed no signs of slowing down. Lead vocalist Rome Ramirez made a shout-out to nearby Fremont, where he grew up.

Wrapping things up, Sublime with Rome played “Bad Fish,” “Scarlet Begonias,” and “Summertime.” Lastly, the band called up Noodle, The Offspring guitarist, to end the show with “What I Got.”
