SAN FRANCISCO — About halfway through her set at Bimbo’s 365 Club, 24-year old Maggie Lindemann paused to look over the room. Her third-ever headlining show, like much of the rest of her tour, was sold out.

Despite the fancy cocktail lounge accouterments of Bimbo’s, Thursday night’s 60-minute set was flush with a heavy dose of modern rock. Compared to her last Northern California appearance at Aftershock Festival in Sacramento, this version of Lindemann showed exponential growth. She commanded the stage with an energetic presence and strong delivery. Fans sang, head-banged and just danced along the music.

What may have been most impressive was Lindemann’s pace. She cranked out about two dozen tracks in an hour, the majority of the material coming from her latest album, Suckerpunch. Opening with “Take Me Nowhere,” the Texas-born singer cranked through a dynamic set.

“So if you guys want to be really loud tonight, that would be amazing,” she said coyly after her first song.

There was little time for banter, though she did a good job of introducing her songs. “How many of you came here alone?” she asked as the lead-up to “Loner.”

The stage design was simple but effective with lighting rigs that made the small club feel larger, Lindemann wore all black as she stalked the stage. She’d occasionally kneel or sit on the drum riser to deliver a quiet verse before pushing forward to the more aggressive parts. She is flanked by an ace trio, fusing riff-heavy hard rock with jumpy pop-punk, laying the foundation for a night that was all gas and no brakes. Also a surprise was Lindemann’s ability to effectively deliver dramatic hard rock in the vein of Evanescence or Flyleaf.

“I’m going to need you to be extra loud on this one since Kellin [Quinn] isn’t here,” Maggie Lindemann said before rolling into “How Could You Do This To Me?” a duet with the Sleeping with Sirens frontman. The singalong continued with “Crash and Burn” and anthemic closer “She Knows It.”

If the goal is to leave fans wanting more, she succeeded. The singer didn’t soak in the adoration or wait for the cheers and chants for an encore, opting simply to make a quiet exit.

Kailee Morgue

Singer-songwriter Kailee Morgue opened the show. The 24-year old Phoenix native is on a roll with a feature spot on the soundtrack for the latest “Scream” movie and a collaboration with Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda on “In My Head.”

Kailee Morgue’s set was a contrast to Lindemann. It was intimate; as if she welcomed attendees into her living. Flanked by just a drummer, Morgue opened with “This Is Why I’m Hot” before rolling through a 10-song set.

Trending more in the direction of alternative and pop-rock. The majority of her songs came from Girls Next Door, but the liveliest singalong came on anti-ballad “Fuck U.” Morgue closed with “Good Day to Be My Dealer” and “Siren.”
