K.Flay releases video for first single with Interscope Records
Last May, long-time Bay Area resident and Stanford alumnus Kristine Flaherty told RIFF that she was close to an agreement with a new label, following a disappointing stint with RCA Records, where she felt stifled as a creative artist. She wasn’t ready to talk about her future plans back then, but she is now. Interscope last week released the video for K.Flay’s first single on that label, “Blood In The Cut.”
The song is her first new material since “FML” in March and joins three others on an EP, Crush Me, which is also available to stream. With the record, K.Flay officially leans toward indie pop and electronica, and farther away from hip hop, where she got her start while attending college in Palo Alto.
