Radio Roman: Caroline Keating, ‘Silver Heart

Halfway through the second track, “Ghosts,” on Caroline Keating’s debut album, I stopped caring that Silver Heart borrows too greatly from Feist and Regina Spektor. It’s good on it’s own, and fans of those New York and Quebecois songstresses will probably enjoy this as well.

Keating, herself from Quebec City (you should really visit if you haven’t yet) and based in Montreal, worked with producer Drew Malamud (Metric and Stars), and was backed on the album by members of Stars, Islands and Barr Brothers.

The album is out April 10, but you can stream it now at Bandcamp.

Grade: B+

Listen: “Ghosts,” “Billy Joel,” “Gatsby.”
