Radio Roman: “See You In A Dream” – Jess Williamson
“See You In A Dream” walks the line between balladeer country and ’50s Motown. Musically, the nearly five-minute mid-tempo tune bu Jess Williamson casually saunters along. Lyrically, Williamson desperately begs for an apology and longs for something or someone missing from her.
“I cared about your stories/ I was just distracted/ And now I can’t hear them anymore,” she sings. It’s at the same time somber and hopeful, not unlike one of Williamson’s idols, Leonard Cohen.
The song is off the Austin singer-songwriter’s forthcoming sophomore album, Heart Song (Nov. 4).
